Just wanted to update real quickly.. tomorrow I'll be flying out of town to Baltimore, I'll be seeing the monday and tuesday Royals v. Orioles games so I'll probably be posting some pictures from the game. I should be able to post another update sometime before I come back, so look forward to that.

Isn't it just fitting..?

I find it so fitting that my last post (all the way in last May..Yikes!) had "Trey Hillman sucks" in the title. Almost a year later, I feel the exact same way.. what have we learned? Nothing. I'm not going to rant and rave about how dumb Trey Hillman is. But I will bring up two small points that annoy me to no end. 1. Why the HELL are we bunting in the first inning with our #3 hitter? There are NO FREAKING OUTS YET. For all we know, we might not make an out all game and score infinity runs. But Trey wants to give the other team 1 of the 27 outs they need to record in order for them to win the game. In my opinion, that's heresy and he should be hanged! ..errr fired. The second thing is this little snippet that will be in the Star tomorrow;

"This much we know about reliever Blake Wood, who was called up from Class AAA Omaha on Wednesday to give the Royals’ unstable bullpen a boost – he is absolutely going to take the ball in some crucial situations.

“We don’t have time to baby him,” said Royals manager Trey Hillman, who indicated the 24-year old will be used as a setup man. “I don’t have time to put him protection mode out of the bullpen. We’ve got to see what this guy’s got.”

So what you're saying is that you're desperate, and you don't care about developing a player who might actually turn out to be good. You'd rather Josh Rupe the situation, throw a man into the fire and watch him get burned. Look, I understand that the Royals have no good setup men. I know this. But that doesn't mean you potentially RUIN a prospect. Trey Hillman is CLEARLY coaching for his job at this point. Until the Royals get Trey out of town, the season is not only lost, but our future is in jeopardy as well. (At least that part of the future that is in KC this year). As far as DM goes, I hope he is removed from his position sometime soon. I would love to keep him on as some sort of minor league special assistant, as he has at least turned things around, but when it comes to big league decisions, please, please... HIRE PAUL DEPODESTA!!

I know that I've been AWOL for a long, long time, but I plan on getting this thing up and going again. The posts may be sporadic, but I'll definitely get a few in a week. As far as all the little things I was doing last year (daily minor league updates and hitter and pitcher of each MLB game..) well, that is going to go away, it was simply too much work, and I didn't see very much input from any of my readers on it anyway.

I'll have more news in a post on Friday, so keep your eyes peeled for that. As far as the Royals go, Zack Greinke takes the mound tomorrow afternoon in a 1:10 start, so if you CAN go.. DO go.
